We encourage all citizens to participate in the upcoming Cherokee Nation General Election. You have an important voice that impacts the future of our Nation. As citizens, it is our right and responsibility.

However, there are important steps and deadlines to note. Find out what you need to know below.

At-large voting is a multi-step process. To vote in this 2025 Election, at-large citizens must:

  1. Register to vote by March 31, if you are not already registered. If you were already registered to vote, you likely received a voter card in the mail this year.

  2. Request an absentee ballot by April 7 (this must be done for every election).

  3. Vote following instructions provided with the ballot to validate your identity, such as using a witness and including copies of identity documents or getting your ballot notarized. Note: your bank might offer you free and easy notary services. Mine did.

Absentee Ballots will be mailed on April 29 and 30, 2025. The General Election will be held on June 7, 2025. If a Run-Off Election is needed, Absentee ballots will be mailed June 23 and 24 with the Run-Off Election held on June 26.
