February Membership Meeting

We had a great turnout for our CNCV General Meeting on Saturday, February 15th. Sabrina McKinney did an excellent presentation on Cherokee heirloom seeds. She provided helpful tips and information on growing these seeds and gardening. She brought many seeds that she cultivated in her garden to give away to our community. Many happy gardeners left with seeds. Jackie Robbins gave an informative presentation on accessing genealogy and getting citizenship. We heard from various members on how, where, and when their families migrated to California. We enjoyed learning about each other, both our differences and similarities in our stories and families.

We had two lucky winners Daphne Chakurian and her daughter Elise for Odell's generous donation of his Native American Flute and Julia Coates book "Trail of Tears" with dedication. In a full circle moment, Odell Landers was the lucky winner for former Cherokee Nation Principal Chief, Chadwick "Corntassel" Smith's book donation with dedication, "Cherokee Nation Proceed Undaunted", available on Amazon.

There was a good variety and plenty of great Potluck food. Wado to all.
