UPDATE: Ridge Family headstones get engraved!

As many of you know, since late 2016 CNCV has been working on cleaning up and restoring the gravesite of John Rollin Ridge and his family located in Grass Valley, CA. This restoration work includes sourcing and installing missing headstones for Ridge family members John Randolph Ridge and infant Tom Moore Ridge.

Well, I picked up their marble engraved stones. On Wednesday, January 12th Liz and I drove the stones up to Henry Anderson of Netz Monument in Grass Valley. See the photo of me and Henry and note the snow on the ground! Grass Valley is still recovering from this winter's historic storms. They still have power outages. We saw many trees and debris on the roads, a lot of activity cleaning and repairs, and flagmen controlling traffic on the highway. After Henry sets the stones in concrete at his shop, he will call me so I can meet him at the Ridge Family Plot for installation and repairs. I will be assisting him and recording with photos. After the installation and repairs are done CNCV will plan a commemoration ceremony at the Ridge Family Plot in Grass Valley.
