PICTURES: June Membership Meeting
We had a wonderful membership gathering and potluck in June. We expanded our timing to be able to spend more time together visiting and it was enjoyed by all. We went around the room to introduce ourselves, speak about our family, and feel more connected as a community. We heard from many community members later that the meeting felt very welcoming and like family.
We also heard from representatives who attended the CCO Conference of Community Leaders and Cultural Enrichment days put on by Cherokee Nation. There was so much information, we decided to make a separate page dedicated to the trip: www.cherokeesofnortherncentralvalley.org/featured/cco-conference-of-community-leaders-2024-gadugi-working-together-for-the-common-good
Our Cultural Center had many new books and merchandise available. We also had many giveaway items that were donated by Board and community members. Mike Webb introduced a special raffle of a native flute and Julia Coates’ Trail of Tears book, donated by Odell Landers.
Finally, we had a membership vote on the proposed By-Laws revisions, which were passed. You can view the current By-Laws here: https://www.cherokeesofnortherncentralvalley.org/bylaws
