Our Cherokee Nation and Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. is bringing us another opportunity to help save our beautiful language, the root of our culture.
Come join us for a Cherokee language class taught by Cherokee Nation teachers. Let’s learn together and help preserve and perpetuate our language as a cornerstone of culture!
Schedule:
Virtually, Tues-Wed-Thurs, February 25-26-27, 5 - 7 pm Pacific time (7-9 pm CT)
In-person, Sat-Sun, March 1-2, 9 am - 4 pm Pacific time in Sacramento, CA
Face-to-face Cherokee Nation teacher interaction for one full weekend
Virtually, Tues-Wed-Thurs, March 4-5-6, 5 - 7 pm Pacific time (7-9 pm CT)
What we need from you is a commitment of time and energy. Every two weeks, research indicates, a language is lost. Be a part of the historical renaissance of our existence by committing time and energy into attending online courses and one full weekend of in-person study by language instructors of the Cherokee Nation. Please note that the virtual sessions are synchronous/live and will not be recorded for later viewing.
To register, please fill out the form linked below and commit yourself to helping save your tribe's culture.
Your Cherokee Nation is paying for everything, and working with your local at-large organizations, Cherokees of Northern Central Valley and Cherokee Society of the Greater Bay Area, to assist with the arrangements.
You may email us at cncv.communications@gmail.com with any questions.
ᏩᏙ (Thank you) for your willingness to learn and share the language that our ancestors primarily spoke.
